Archery at the Olympics Archery became an Olympic sport in 1900, once that happened, every one that didn’t know about it, started to learn about. People started buying archery equipment. And when people found out that some bows can shoot over 150 miles an hour then people started to take their new toy out hunting, Bringing home big deer and other large animals. There are four archery events held at the Olympics: Men's Individual, Women's Individual, Men's Team and Women's Team. Archers used to shoot a double FITA round of 288 total arrows, with the championship decided by the highest total score. In an effort to make the sport more exciting, the format was changed to head-to-head elimination for the top 64 competitors beginning with the 1992 Olympics.

There are many different kind and styles of Bows you have the, Arrows, longbows, compound bows, crossbow, bow hunting. And long ago when people had no guns they would use wood arrows and wood bows to hunt small game. And now today's archers use arrows with aluminum or carbon shafts that is powerful enough to take out a deer or a bear.
Archery is now used in some school as an archery team, and now has many different leagues and ages of archery. Olympic Archery has come into its own during the 1996 Olympics when the U.S. Olympic team won the gold medal. While millions of people watched bow hunting as it grew in numbers from a million to over four-million bow hunters worldwide. And is now used in many countries all over the world.
If you won’t to do archery you have to have patients and have good aim but if you don’t than that can be improved. Archery is a fun sport once you get the hang of it. But you have to be responsible you can’t just go out and shot the neighbor’s cat.
